Celebrating World Clinical Trials Day

On 20 May, World Clinical Trials Day recognises the vital role of clinical research in advancing medical knowledge and improving health outcomes. Marking the anniversary of the first recorded clinical trial by James Lind in 1747, the day highlights the importance of studies involving human participants in generating robust scientific evidence.

In this context, the IMMEDIATE project celebrates the successful completion of its proof-of-concept clinical study, a key milestone in exploring innovative microbiome-based approaches to support mental and metabolic health.

The study involved healthcare professionals and investigated the potential of a targeted postbiotic intervention to influence stress-related outcomes and the gut–brain axis. As an early-stage clinical study, it was designed to generate initial evidence on the effectiveness of this approach and to further understanding of the links between the microbiome and overall wellbeing.

The completion of this study represents an important step in the clinical research pathway, providing valuable insights that can inform future research and potential larger-scale clinical investigations.

On World Clinical Trials Day, IMMEDIATE acknowledges the contribution of all participants, researchers, and partners whose commitment and collaboration made this achievement possible.
