IMMEDIATE Project Hackathon on Data Management

On 8–9 September, partners from Work Package 1 (FAIR Data Management and Integration for the AI Platform), led by the Max Delbrück Center (MDC) and Dr Sofia Forslund, came together with colleagues from other work packages for a dynamic hackathon at BIMSB.

The two-day event provided a hands-on environment for scientists, data managers, and project partners to exchange experiences, address current challenges, and align on practical steps to advance WP1 and its interconnections across the IMMEDIATE project.

The hackathon agenda was designed to foster both structured discussions and open collaboration. Participants explored:

  • Task distribution and time frames within WP1,
  • Workflows and data methods across teams,
  • Chronological flows and dependencies between tasks,
  • Demonstrations of tools and approaches,
  • Reflections on individual challenges, and
  • Collective agreement on next steps.

Over the course of two days, partners not only shared updates on data methods and tools but also mapped out a clear roadmap for the months ahead. The collaborative format of the hackathon encouraged knowledge exchange across work packages, highlighting synergies and reinforcing the importance of integrated approaches to data management.

The hackathon concluded with tangible agreements on future actions, providing fresh momentum for WP1 and strengthening collaboration across the wider IMMEDIATE consortium.
